Description: | Collection of images that document the lives and activities of ethnic minorities in Oregon. The images are drawn from the archival collections that form the Oregon Multicultural Archives. Ethnic minorites represented in the Archives include Indians of North America, Japanese Americans, African Americans, Women, and Hispanic Americans. African American materials in the collection document the work of the Urban League of Portland and its first leader, Edwin C. Berry, as well as a 1969 Oregon State University walkout by the Black Student Union. The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata. |
