Online encyclopedia about Nevada covering the topics of land and water, history of the state's diversity, community and society, the arts, business and economy, mining, gaming and tourism, politics and government, the state's nuclear history, and exploration and transportation. The encyclopedia features an article about the history of African Americans in relation to the Comstock Load in the Virginia City area. It also includes photographs of a demonstration at the capitol building in Carson City and influential African American and white civil rights workers in Nevada.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
