The collection includes a pamphlet documenting the dedication of the Ralph Bunche Hall at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1969. Ralph Bunche was an African American political scientist and diplomat who worked with the United Nations. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles and graduated with honors in 1927.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
