| Description: | On September 15, 1963, the Ku Klux Klan bombed the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church and killed four little girls. These powerful images show the immediate and widespread destruction of the tragedy and heartbreak that inspired a movement. Sixteenth Street Baptist Church is located at the intersection of 16th Street and 6th Avenue North. The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata. |
