Web site with articles about the Civil Rights movement and biographies of social reformers in the Chicago, Illinois Metropolitan Area. Articles include an introduction to the movement in Chicago, histories of local and national Civil Rights organizations, and biographies of local and national leaders, discussing specifically work done in the city and state. The site also includes a short video clip from a 1964 visit by Martin Luther King, Jr. to Chicago as well as other supporting historical documents such as related pamphlets and photographs.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
