Web site companion to a Kentucky Educational Television documentary of the same title. The site provides biographies of Kentuckians featured in the documentary; a timeline of significant Civil Rights events both in Kentucky and in the United States as a whole; twenty black-and-white images of civil rights workers and demonstrations; information about the documentary; fourteen hour-long videos of interviews used in creating the documentary; a bibliography; and information and lesson plans for teachers.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
