Civil Rights-related lesson plans cover topics such as the 1960 Greensboro sit-ins, Civil Rights protests, Martin Luther King and the "I have a dream" speech from the 1963 March on Washington, and Brown vs. Board of Education.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
