Records collected by the Mississippi State Sovereignty Commission relating to the June 1965 arrest of demonstrators and subsequent charges of police brutality by members of the National Council of Churches. The file contains correspondence between Commission director Erle Johnston and the Department of Justice following up on the charges. It also contains a copy of the House Congressional Record in which a congressman discusses the event and a statement presented to the Congressional Briefing made by three men from the National Council of Churches.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
