The lesson plan provides historical context to the roles of the two communities, an introductory question, a map identifying the two towns, readings about education in Canterbury and Little Rock, photographs of the two schools central in the lesson plan, a list of activities, and a list of supplementary resources.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
