Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) file on Joseph A. DeLaine, Sr.; comprised of letters between DeLaine, J. Edgar Hoover, and other FBI agents, and written reports to document DeLaine's danger. The file includes a 1955 letter warning DeLaine to leave Lake City, South Carolina, a warrant sworn out against him, and information on the DeLaine family's relocation to New York. Many FBI files duplicate original documents elsewhere in the collection.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
