Travis, chair of the the Advisory Commission on Human Relations in Columbia, South Carolina, requesting that the the commission advise South Carolina governor John West to remove criminal charges against DeLaine so that he might return to South Carolina with protection of law. DeLaine details the events leading up to the charges against him and includes a document entitled "Information leading to Lake City experience." The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata. |
