Church for Hammett Pearson, a plaintiff in the Clarendon County, South Carolina, school segregation case, also known as Briggs v. Elliott, and co-founder of the Clarendon County branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. The program includes an obituary for Pearson and an advertisement for Fleming and DeLaine Funeral Home in Manning, South Carolina. A handwritten note on the program identifies Hammett as the brother of Levi Pearson, who was the plaintiff in a 1948 case that was a precursor to the Briggs v. Elliott case.
