Church in New York, New York, regarding his experience in South Carolina; the Clarendon County, South Carolina school segregation case, also known as Briggs v. Elliott; his escape from South Carolina to New York; and continued persecution of African Americans in South Carolina.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
