| Description: | Letter from attorney Harold Boulware of Columbia, South Carolina, to Joseph A. DeLaine, Sr., in Summerton, South Carolina. Boulware writes, "I am just now processing the law in an effort to file the school bus transportation suit." The suit became Pearson v. County Board of Education, 1948. The case, filed March 16, 1948 and was thrown out of court on June 8 because the plaintiff, Levi Pearson, lived in the wrong school district. The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata. |
