McCord, Clarendon County Superintendent of Education, Mrs. Carrigan, attendance teacher, state supervisors, and police, expressing gratitude for their effort to enforce attendance laws at Silver School. DeLaine fears "a public example will have to be made ... before our unconcerned folks will believe South Carolina has an attendance law that applies to colored children." The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata. |
