Date:1956 Apr. 28
Description:

Letter from Joseph A. DeLaine, Sr., of New York, New York, to the New York City Post Office listing problems with letters mailed from New York to individuals in South Carolina and Georgia. In filing the formal complaint, DeLaine states that African Americans involved in the Clarendon County school case have had their mail tampered with since the case began in 1949, but that individuals were afraid to report the problem in South Carolina.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
