A March 1963 article from The Aurora newspaper in Knoxville, Tennessee about a civil rights demonstration at the Tennessee and Bijou Theatres in which 53 people were arrested. The segregated theaters refused to admit African Americans. The accompanying photograph includes Tennessee native, Marion Barry, who later served as mayor of Washington, D.C. as well as Avon Rollins and Jerry Porter.
