| Description: | Letter written February 16, 1956 to Edmund Orgill, mayor of Memphis, Tennessee by a Mrs. Bailey. In the letter, Mrs. Bailey refuses to address the mayor as "mister" because she believes he stands for integration. She encourages him to stand up for the white citizens of the United States. The letter was written in response to Mayor Orgill's request for citizen comment on putting an African American on the board of John Gaston Hospital.
