The collection includes interviews with Lynne Turley, a music teacher in both white and African American schools in Memphis; Mose Yvonne Brooks-Hooks, a teacher, superintendent, and educational advocate; George Hunts, an art teacher and artist; Jane Walters, a teacher during the civil rights movement and integration; and Johnnie Turner, a civil rights worker and teacher. The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata. |
