William F. Rasche served as the Director of Milwaukee Vocational and Adult Schools in the 1940s and 1950s. In 1946, Rasche delivered this speech at the Annual Meeting of the Employers' Association of Milwaukee, detailing the difficulties African Americans faced in the workplace and advocating for an increase in the number of available employment opportunities.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
