Title: | After reading Los Angeles headlines, August 18, 1965 |
Date: | 1965 |
Description: | A commentary by Paul J. Schultz regarding the white population's misunderstanding of African American actions in the wake of riots in Los Angeles. Schultz describes how past race relations, intolerance and discrimination by White America has contributed to recent acts of rebellion by African American's. Schultz warns that similar acts of violence and rioting are certainly to arise in Portland if racial issues and the "White problem" are not addressed. It is unknown whether or not this commentary was ever published or circulated. The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata. |
