Official state annual report on discrimination in Washington State, the document briefly addresses the history of Washington State Civil Rights beginning with 1890 legislation outlawing discrimination. Annual report reviews the 1957 law and what it entails, equal opportunities in housing, employment, and use of public accommodations. Publication addresses some of the changes that have occurred in Washington because of 1957 legislation. Some of the changes addressed include increase in publications that inform citizens of their rights, increase attendance and scheduling of speaking engagements and establishment of advisory councils throughout the state. The report addresses the impacts that future economic cutbacks will have on minority workers and how minority workers have a more difficult time securing employment in economically stressed times. Finally, the document includes statistical reports including both formal and informal complaints end December 31, 1957.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
