Articles address how Authur R. Cash, Chairman, Vetrans Committee of the Vancouver NAACP received letter from Governor Mon C. Wallgren regarding integration of National Guard for the state of Washington. Governor Wallgren states that "E.W. Llewellyn has been for sometime working on this problem..." "General Llewellyn is working to organize in this statem separate units with ballalions which will be composed of both officers and enlisted men of minority races." Goal is to integrate minority racial groups in the National Guard.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
