Description: | Arthur Cash, Chairman of the Veterans Committee, reported that the National Branch of the NAACP has gone on record as being opposed to program of universal military training. The committee wrote a letter to Governor Wallgren urging integration of Black into the National Guard. The clipping also addresses housing issues in the area and states that people who desire demountable housing should contact Housing Authority or W.H. Underwood, Housing Authority Chairman. W. Irving Jone, Chairman of the Committee on Education announced voting schools. Jone encourages people to write sentors and congressmen to support the anti-poll taz and anti-lynching legislation. Photograph of "Meadows High School Chourus Has Robes." Photograph has names underlined in red ink. The names underlined are possible members of NAACP Vancouver. The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata. |
