Board of Education Should Have Said: The Nation's Top Legal Experts Rewrite America's Landmark Civil Rights Decision, that includes a timeline listing events in the African American struggle for Civil Rights in the United States. The timeline covers the years 1502 through 2000 and events ranging from the arrival of Africans in America to the Civil War and Reconstruction through Affirmative Action and subsequent backlash.

The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
