Baez, Joan
Biography:
Joan Chandos Baez (born January 9, 1941) is an American folk singer, songwriter, and activist. Baez often performed at UNESCO, civil rights, and anti-Vietnam War rallies. During the 1963 March on Washington, she opened the program by singing "Oh Freedom" and also led the crowd in "We Shall Overcome."
