Burks, Charles J.
Biography:
In 1948, Dr. Charles J. Burks was the first African American physician with hospital privileges at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He also established PBA (Pittsburgh Black Action), The Second Step drug rehabilitation program.
