Biography:

"Teacher, minister, and civil rights activist, King first burst into public notoriety in 1957 when students at Alcorn Agricultural and Mining College (now Alcorn State University) in Lorman, Mississippi, where King briefly taught history, protested a series of prosegregationist newspaper articles he had written."
