Pritchett, Laurie, 1926-2000
Biography:
Police chief of Albany, Georgia from 1959-1966, Pritchett used the tactic of nonviolence to thwart the efforts of the Albany Movement. After leaving Albany, he served as chief of police in High Point, North Carolina, until his retirement in 1975.
