Rand, Roena, 1932-
Biography:
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Roena Rand was living in Los Angeles, California and working as a Internal Revenue clerk when she was arrested for her participation in the Freedom Rides. Rand was arrested in the Illinois Central terminal in Jackson, Mississippi on 9 July 1961 after she and eight others participated in a Freedom Ride from New Orleans, Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi.
