Biography:
Twenty-five year old Californian and wife of African American boxer John Copeland Rogers, Janice Rogers was arrested for her participation in a June 25, 1961 Freedom Ride from New Orleans, Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi via the Illinois Central Railroad. While serving her term in Parchman prison, she would miscarry.
