Samuels, Rita Jackson

Biography:

Rita Jackson Samuels was the coordinator of the Governor's Council on Human Relations in Atlanta, Georgia during the tenure of governor Jimmy Carter. She initiated the installation of a portrait of Martin Luther King, Jr. in the state capitol.--From Oral Histories of the American South biography.
