Thomas, Sandra Nixon
Biography:
Member of Congress on Racial Equality (CORE) and participant in Freedom Rides of 1961. She traveled by train from New Orleans to Jackson, Mississippi on May 31, 1961, where she was arrested and charged with breach of peace for attempting to use a public restroom.
