Trotter, William P. (William Perry), 1919-2004
Biography:
Born November 2, 1919 in Manchester, Meriweather County, Georgia, William Perry Trotter, a graduate of Vanderbilt and the University of Georgia's Law School, was a World War II air force veteran and served the state of Georgia in various capacities. From 1951 to 1952 and again from 1957 to 1958, he represented the 37th district in the state senate. He served as a representative for Troup County form 1959 to 1960. On February 20, 1959, he became the director of the department of public safety, a post he held until his resignation on November 1, 1961.
