Tucker, Charles E.
Biography:
Charles E. Tucker was a bishop in the African American Methodist Church and active in the organization of demonstrations and sit-ins throughout Louisville, Kentucky during the civil rights movement. In 1961, he endorsed a petition requesting executive clemency from President Kennedy for imprisoned civil rights activist and fellow Kentuckian, Carl Braden.
