Turner, Ruth
Biography:
African American civil rights worker and executive secretary of the Cleveland chapter of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) in the 1960s; she also served as a National Action Council member of the organization. She was born in Chicago and educated at Oberlin College, and taught German in the Cleveland public schools before assuming her position at CORE.
