Biography:

In September 1961 Lawrence Williams, Ford Greene, and Ralph Long, Jr. became the first African American students admitted to Georgia Tech. Williams, who graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, took some time away from school after his first year. The same day Williams registered to return to Tech, he received a draft notice in the mail. After serving in the Air Force, Williams joined Atlanta's Channel 5 television for a 26-year career.
