Willis, Edwin E., 1904-
Biography:
Edwin E. Willis was born on October 2, 1904 in Arnaudville, Louisiana. After practicing law in New Orleans for several years, Willis was elected to the Louisiana State Senate in 1948. Less than a year later, Willis, a Democrat, was elected to the United States House of Representatives where he served until 1969. During his tenure, Congressman Willis served as Chairman of the House Un-American Activities Committee from 1963 until 1969. He died on October 24, 1972.
