Wilson, Helene Dorothy, 1935-

Biography:

Twenty-six year old housewife from Washington, DC, Helene Dorothy Wilson was arrested in Jackson, Mississippi on 8 June 1961 for her participation in a Freedom Ride on the Illinois Central Railroad from New Orleans, Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi. Throughout the movement Wilson worked as both a NAG and CORE activist.
